Motherhood is a beautiful journey, but let’s be honest—it is overwhelming. This post is especially for all the new moms out there who’ve just stepped into the wonderful (and sometimes chaotic) world of motherhood. If you’re still adjusting to life outside the "sleep-all-night" phase and a helper is not an option (like me), this is for you.

Between sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and everything in between, it’s easy to feel like you’re barely holding it together. But the truth is, your mental health is essential for your family.
Remember:
A happy, healthy mom is the heart of a happy, healthy home.
And whenever any of us feels that their heartbeat is racing, blood pressure is rising and head is about to explode due to frustration buildup, here are some things we can try to do to ease the overwhelming feeling.
Give Yourself Permission to Rest
As moms, we often feel like we have to do it all. But burnout doesn’t help anyone. It’s okay to take breaks mommy! Resting isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Whether it’s a quick nap or just lying down for a bit on the sofa while the kids are busy or a few minutes of quiet time when they are asleep, give yourself moments to recharge.

Find Your “Me Time”
Whether it’s reading, crafting, or enjoying a favorite show, carve out a little time for yourself each day. Doing something you love, even for just 15 minutes, can have a big impact on your mood and energy. This is your time to reconnect with yourself. I love doing crafts, watching K-dramas in Loklok and sometimes just browsing and listening to my favorite music on my playlist and they help a lot.

You don’t have to do it alone. Talk to your partner, a trusted friend, or even join a mom’s group. I always tell it to my husband whenever I feel overwhelmed, when everything is happening at the same time. Like there's a million things to do and I only have an hour or two to finish. So draining!!!
Good thing is that he's always there to suggest things that will lessen the stress. Like, instead of me cooking, we'll just go get food delivered. Or when he's free, he's gonna be the one bathing our youngest kid.
Then, there's my mom and dad, whenever they can they help me in the chores and the kids.
This kind of gestures really helps. Sharing your experiences and hearing from others who understand can be incredibly healing.
Set Realistic Expectations
Let go of the idea of perfection. The house doesn’t always have to be spotless, and it’s okay if dinner isn’t Instagram-worthy. Focus on what truly matters: the love and connection you share with your family.
Move Your Body
Exercise isn’t just about physical health—it’s a powerful way to boost your mental wellness too. Even a short walk or stretching session can release endorphins and improve your mood. Find something you enjoy, whether it’s dancing around the living room with your kids or trying a yoga session at home.
Here's a yoga mat which is non-toxic, odorless and made with harmless NBR materials, so you can do sessions with your kids safely.
Celebrate Your Wins
At the end of the day, take a moment to reflect on what went well. Did you make your kids laugh? Did you tick something off your to-do list? These little wins add up and remind you that you’re doing a great job, even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
There you have it!
Moms, you’re amazing. Your hard work, love, and dedication make a world of difference in your family’s life. But remember, you matter too. Taking care of your mental wellness isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Doing all these or just some of it is not only nurturing your own happiness but also creating a stronger foundation for your family.
Take it one step at a time, and remember: you’ve got this! 💖
